When will I return to normal? How do I get my life back? You have not lost your life. You have changed. There is a big difference. Let’s work together to discover and create this “new you”. Let’s reimagine a new vision for your future.

Many things have changed. You have injured your brain. The brain controls your mind, emotions, and actions. All these things have potentially been affected. It is easy to focus on your many losses. I want to challenge you to ask different questions. Who is this “NEW ME”? What are my strengths now? What is important to me? Who do I want to become?

The brain is plastic and changeable. Your brain injury is a reality. Let’s work together to help rewire and mold your brain as you recover for the best results. The following are four areas we need to consider.

 LIFESTYLE…

Find out and make the best lifestyle changes that will help stimulate brain health, growth, and recovery. Knowledge about best lifestyle is frequently changing. I will provide you with accurate information, but we all know that knowledge is NOT enough! Lifestyle change is very difficult on your own. Let’s work together to set realistic goals. Let’s meet regularly for accountability as you work towards your goals and celebrate your successes.

 FRIENDS…

Meet with other brain injury warriors to discuss common challenges and solutions to the issues you are facing.

JOB…

You may have difficulties as a result of your brain injury that make return to your job difficult. Remember you are a survivor. You have shown amazing resilience and strength to come this far. Rather than decide you cannot do this, let’s consider the options together. It is never too late to learn new skills and follow your dreams.

 YOU…

Discover your strengths. These are not only things you are good at doing, but they also motivate and energize you. They are often not affected by your brain injury. Your personality is captured in your strengths. You might not realize their existence or been previously able to use them.

Together, we can use a strengths assessment tool to identify your true strengths. You may or may not have the strengths you had before. With this information in hand, you will be better able to understand yourself and move forward to achieve your goals. You will be able to find and enjoy new and better relationships. Your life will be transformed by discovering the “New You” and using your true strengths.
